Rural Transport Programme
SECAD's Rural Transport Programme aims to provide community based, flexible transport services that can respond to local needs and connect people living in rural areas to their local villages and towns or onto other transport options.
It is designed to support people respond to their transport needs and provide improved opportunities for individuals to access basic services, overcome social exclusion and improve their well-being and quality of life.
Passengers can be collected at a central collection points or anyone who cannot get to a central collection point can be collected at their homes.
Free travel for holders of a Free Travel Pass and children aged under 4 years.
Fares:
- €5 return for passengers between 16 – 65 years
- €2.50 single for passengers between 16 – 65 years
- €3 return for passengers between 4 – 15 years
- €1.50 single for passengers between 4 – 15 years

Current Services:
EC1: Knockadoon—Ballymacoda—Gortroe—Youghal
This service operates every Friday departing at 9.35am (first passenger pickup); Knockadoon at circa 9.50am and Ballymacoda at circa 10.05am and arrives into Youghal for circa 10.45am. This service returns from Youghal at 1.00pm
EC2: Cloyne—Churchtown South – Shanagarry Cross – Ballintotis - Midleton
This service operates every Thursday departingfrom Cloyne at 9.45am; Churchtown South 9.55am and arrives into Midleton for circa 10.55am. This service returns from Midleton at 1.30pm.
SC1: Ballinhassig – Ballynora – Waterfall - Ballincollig
This service operates every Tuesday departing 9.45am (first passenger pickup); Ballinhassig at circa 10.10am and arrives into Ballincollig shopping centre for circa 10.30am. This service returns from Ballincollig at 1.30pm.
SC2: Robert’s Cove—Minane Bridge—Carrigaline
This service operates every Friday departing Robert’s Cove at 9.45; Minane Bridge circa 10.10am and arrives into Carrigaline for circa 10.40am. This service returns from Carrigaline at 1.30pm
