an image of a group of people having ballincollig community discussionThe Ballincollig Community Forum’s steering group were supported to review their work, develop a plan and present it at a public meeting. After the public meeting there was a busy schedule of local area gatherings and forum administration committee meetings. There were five meetings of the Forum Administration Committee, including an initial orientation/ training meeting and a consultation with Muintir na Tire with respect to an appropriate governance structure. Prior to the public meeting, there were approximately 15 meetings of the interim steering group.

The Forum’s own evaluations included that they had had the following achievements:

  • Steering group organised
  • Secured support of community
  • Submission made on county development plan
  • Investigated structures for organisation of forum
  • Expanded steering group
  • Secured assistance for facilitation and training
  • Cohesion and working well together
