How to prepare a Community Plan to access funding

Tour of facilities & sharing of knowledge on recent development / renovation projects of facility (renovation work has been carried out at Knocknamanagh http://www.kost.ie recently and both local community groups have received funding from the Community Services Programme to recruit staff)

Venue & Date

Session 1 will take place at two venues – one in South Cork and one in East Cork – your group should choose which time and venue best suits you

South Cork       

Knocknamanagh Old School House, Minane Bridge, Tuesday 26th May at 7.30pm

East Cork   

Carrigtwohill Community Centre, Wednesday 27th May at 7.30pm

Who will benefit from this session

Volunteers in community groups such as Community Councils, Residents Associations, Community Associations; Sports Associations; Family Resource Centres

Upon completion of this session you will
  • Have an understanding of the process involved in putting together a community plan
  • Have a template plan which can be customised to form your own community plan
  • Have an understanding of the importance of engagement with all of your community group in the preparation of the plan
  • Have an understanding of how to prioritise the development work / projects which your community hopes to carry out
  • Be in a better position to access funding from both private and public sources

You will get the opportunity to hear the experiences of the local community group at Knocknamanagh or Carrigtwohill in carrying out recent Community Centre renovation / building projects and in successfully applying for funding for staff through the Community Services Programme
You will get the opportunity to network with other Community Groups

There is no charge for this seminar which is organised and supported by SECAD
