South and East Cork Area Development Partnership (SECAD) CLG is one of the most experienced and active Local Development Groups operating in the country.
South & East Cork Area Development Partnership CLG (SECAD) is a ‘Local Development Company’ with two main development objectives; promoting and enabling (i) Rural Development and (ii) Social Inclusion, within the communities of South, East and West Cork, where the company’s main operations are based. SECAD achieves this through the delivery of a number of local and community development programmes including the Rural Development Programme, the Social Inclusion & Community Activation Programme, the Rural Social Scheme, Tús Community Work Placement Programme and others.
SECAD has been a platform for a variety of local, regional and national initiatives over the years e.g. Millennium Partnership Fund, Back to Education Initiative, Equality Programmes and the Rural Social Scheme, Tús and the Equality for Women Measure.
SECAD has also been involved in the successful deliver of a major INTERREG Programme with partners in Ireland, Germany and Scotland and is about to embark on a new and innovative Ireland-Wales INTERREG project. We are also in 2017 launching a new Gender Equality project called Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network (WREN) in conjunction with Ballyhoura Partnership and Rubicon at CIT.
