Equality for Women Programme

“Top Marketing Tips for your Business” was the first networking event in Youghal.  The speaker provided pointers on how to market a business effectively and included a segment how to optimise the use of the new social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter.

SECAD provided support to potential and existing female entrepreneurs, by supporting them to improve their personal effectiveness and increasing their access to networking and training opportunities. This project is called the Catalyst women in enterprise project. In recent years there are an increasing number of women looking to self-employment as a means of supporting themselves and their families.

The project has a particular emphasis on co-ordination and maximisation of local resources, bringing real added value and the development of local capacity, to support potential and existing female entrepreneurs in the long-term.

This is achieved through animation and promotional activities, local events, enterprise training, business mentoring, the establishment of local networking supports for female entrepreneurs and the development of linkages between local networks, enterprise support bodies and regional / national networks.   One of the key aims of the project is to establish a Network for Entrepreneurial Women in a number of geographic hubs, ideally supported by a local business association / Chamber to increase the sustainability of the network.

SECAD’s key target groups for this project are women who are considering setting up a business, ready to start a business, have recently set up or have an established business.
