Proud to be a valued team member

Supported through Ability-Thrive Programme

Kevin Shanahan graduated from SECAD’s Ability-Thrive Programme in March 2024. The programme supports people with disabilities to build confidence, develop life skills, and create clear pathways to employment. Shortly after completing it, Kevin began working two days a week at Mr Price, where he is now a valued team member. As a store assistant, he keeps shelves stocked, tidies displays, checks prices, and assists customers.

Kevin’s manager and colleagues praise his dedication, reliability, and positive attitude. Proud to contribute to society, Kevin enjoys being part of a supportive team and remains involved in activities at the Cope Foundation’s Midleton Hub.

Kevin’s journey shows how SECAD’s Thrive Programme (now WorkAbility Cork Programme) empowers people to overcome challenges, build skills, access work and thrive in their communities.
