From local roots to artisan excellence
Supported through the LEADER programme
What began as a small wholesale bakery in Douglas in 1984 has grown into one of Cork’s best-loved artisan food producers. Trained as a chef in Europe, Michael Hassett brought continental flavours home, building a bakery rooted in quality, tradition, and innovation.
In 2019, SECAD supported Hassett’s Bakery through LEADER funding to expand biscuit and cracker production at their facility between Carrigaline and Crosshaven. This investment boosted innovation and job creation, strengthening Cork’s reputation as a centre of excellence in artisan food.
