Connecting primary school children with nature

Supported through the WildWork Initiative, LEADER and SICAP programmes

SECAD Partnership’s Junior Wild Work programme invites 5th and 6th class primary school students to explore biodiversity through hands-on activities both in the classroom and outdoors.

Each month, facilitators lead interactive sessions while students keep their own Wild Work Journals to record discoveries and adventures. Teachers receive guidance to continue the programme independently, fostering a lasting connection with nature. Beyond schools, the project supports communities in creating outdoor classrooms and wildlife habitats, strengthening the bond between people and the natural world.
