Active now in Youghal, Cobh, Macroom, and Millstreet, SECAD’s English Conversation Clubs offer free, welcoming classes to support new community members arriving from non-English-speaking countries. These clubs are learning from the Midleton model established in 2022 and are set to expand further as demand grows.

Using teaching materials and training from Fáilte Isteach, these clubs are led by local volunteers and always open to new helpers. Sessions focus on everyday English, confidence-building, and conversation in a relaxed, friendly setting.

With strong local partnerships and ongoing volunteer support, the clubs do more than teach language — they help build community, promote integration, and create space for cultural exchange and shared understanding.
