We will guide you through two pathways:

Path 1: Find a Job

  • Build a strong CV
  • Show your skills and experience
  • Explain career breaks with confidence

Path 2: Start a Business

  • Write a simple business plan
  • Assess if your idea can work
  • Understand your customer base

Learn about employment and enterprise supports available to you:

  • Learn about supports such as the Part-Time Job Incentive
  • Learn about supports such as WPEP, BTWEA, STEA, Springboard+, and ETB courses
  • Practise short activities, including writing a CV profile or delivering a short business pitch
  • Understand how to engage with your Intreo Case Officer

Each workshop includes a free and confidential 1-to-1 consultation with a SECAD Employment Support Officer. This personalised session allows you to discuss your individual situation, explore your options in more detail, and receive tailored guidance on your next steps.

The workshop is friendly, welcoming, and open to anyone who needs guidance with employment, training, upskilling, or considering self-employment.

To access our free supports, participants must meet eligibility criteria under the SICAP Employment Support Services. We are happy to discuss eligibility with you and help you understand if you qualify.

Our services are delivered through the SICAP Programme and focused on supporting disadvantaged individuals in Cork rural communities, who are:

  • Long-term unemployed (over 12 months)
  • Low-income or underemployed
  • From low-income households
  • Single parents and carers
  • People out of work through illness and/or limited abilities
  • Refugees, people seeking protection in Ireland
