Rural Tourism & Ring of Cork

Rural Tourism is critical to the economy of County Cork. Tourism is boosted by the region’s close proximity to traditionally strong tourism routes and a ready market of over one million people, nearby access to an airport and ferry port as well as a growing cruise-liner business.

SECAD’s support for the development of rural tourism combines direct investment into tourism enterprises as well as managing the day to day operation of a network of tourism businesses – the Ring of Cork (ROC).

The Ring of Cork (ROC) connects tourism businesses across the region and focuses on upskilling tourism businesses through networking, training programmes and focussing specifically on digital marketing. Crucially, through the Ring of Cork, individual businesses are enabled to promote their offering nationally to audiences that otherwise would be prohibitive to reach.

The ROC network equips tourism businesses with the tools and skills to boost business and in turn, support local jobs and the local economy. Check out Ring of Cork’s training calendar for members and the small business community.

Find out more about Ring of Cork membership and how your small business could benefit at www.ringofcork.ie

Contact Elga Ryan, eryan@secad.ie or 021 461 3432 to find out more.

The training programmes that Ring of Cork deliver have been excellent. Excellent professional trainers are chosen to deliver on topics that are very relevant for all in the tourism business. I make sure to attend to avail of a good opportunity to learn from and network with other tourism professionals too.“
