Christopher Braganza’s journey into food entrepreneurship
Supported through the LEADER Programme
Christopher Braganza arrived in Ireland in 2012, bringing a love of Goan cuisine, known for its bold flavours and Portuguese influence. In 2020, he followed his passion and started Spice Genie, a food truck serving authentic Goan dishes made from scratch.
His talent was recognised when he won RTÉ’s Battle of the Food Trucks in 2022. With support from SECAD Partnership, Christopher secured funding for equipment, branding, and marketing through the LEADER Food Initiative, helping him grow his business and create local jobs.
Today, Spice Genie is a much-loved part of the Midleton food scene, offering unique dishes like masala dosa and Goan-style beef masala. Christopher’s journey shows how passion, skill, and support can turn a dream into success.
