WorkAbility Cork sets out to support people with disabilities to access employment, including self-employment as well as education, training, personal development and confidence building.

In partnership with Cork Chamber, SECAD will encourage employers to:

  • adopt diversity and inclusion policies;
  • facilitate partnerships between disability advocacy organisations and businesses;
  • develop supported employment programmes through job coaches and tutors; and
  • highlight the incentives available for employers who hire individuals with disabilities.

For WorkAbility Cork participants, Midleton will be a key hub for training and upskilling with other locations also used as outreach centres (depending on participant locations, accessibility, etc.).

We will work with employers, large and small, in key locations in towns and industrial areas throughout the county. These are likely to include employers in Little Island, Carrigtwohill and Ringaskiddy as well as smaller employers in towns such as Cobh, Midleton, Youghal.
