In September 2025, SECAD Partnership CLG marked a significant milestone — 30 years of supporting local communities across Cork.

The anniversary was celebrated at Ballinadee Community Hall, where An Taoiseach Micheál Martin joined us to recognise three decades of partnership, local development and community-led progress. On the day, we launched a special commemorative initiative: 30 trees for 30 years of supporting communities.

For over three decades, SECAD has worked side by side with communities, supporting social inclusion, enterprise development, climate action and biodiversity. This anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved together, while also creating a meaningful and lasting legacy.

Supporting biodiversity remains a key priority for SECAD. As part of this anniversary programme, native Irish trees will be planted in 30 communities across the SECAD region.

Each planting will represent not only environmental action, but also the strength of collaboration between SECAD and the communities we support.

The 30 trees initiative symbolises growth, resilience and shared commitment. As these trees take root in communities across Cork, they will stand as living markers of 30 years of partnership — and of our continued dedication to sustainable, community-focused development.
