Promoting tourism across South and East Cork
Supported through the LEADER programme
The Ring of Cork is a tourism brand and networking platform that helps local businesses promote the culture, food, festivals, and coastal beauty of South and East Cork to visitors. Officially launched in 2012 by South & East Cork Tourism, it receives ongoing support from SECAD Partnership. The network connects tourism attractions, accommodation providers, restaurants, bars, and activity businesses across the region – from Youghal in the east, through Midleton, Cobh, Carrigaline, Ballincollig, and Cork Harbour.
SECAD supports the Ring of Cork by delivering marketing campaigns, funding guided brochures and heritage trail maps, providing training in marketing and tourism promotion, facilitating networking, and helping members secure development grants.
In 2025 SECAD developed Keep Moving in Nature brochure: a free guide featuring 17 scenic walking, wheeling and woodland trails across East Cork and Cork Harbour.
Keep Moving in Nature is available free of charge online and at tourist offices throughout the region, thanks to a partnership with Fáilte Ireland’s Tourist Office Network and the Cork Library network.
The project, made possible with funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, responds to a growing demand from both locals and visitors for printed resources promoting rural and nature-based recreation.
