Together at Fair Green: Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing in East Cork

September 10, 2026

Looking after our mental health is part of everyday life – and knowing where to find support when we need it can make a real difference.

That message was at the heart of Together at Fair Green, a free community mental health and wellbeing event held in Midleton on Sunday, 23 August 2026.

The event brought together the local community and more than 30 organisations and services, giving people an opportunity to learn about the mental health, wellbeing and community supports available across East Cork.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors could meet local organisations, access information and resources, take part in activities and workshops, and simply enjoy time together in a welcoming community atmosphere.

The SECAD Partnership team was delighted to be part of the day and to connect with so many people from Midleton and the wider East Cork community.

Caring for our mental health every day

Events such as Together at Fair Green are an important reminder that looking after our mental health does not begin only when we are struggling.

Staying connected with other people, taking part in activities we enjoy, learning new skills, looking after our physical and emotional wellbeing, and knowing where to turn when we need additional support can all contribute to better mental health.

Sometimes the most difficult part can simply be knowing what support is available locally and how to access it.

That is why Together at Fair Green brought so many different organisations together in one place – helping people discover the range of services, groups, courses and activities available within their own community.

Discover local supports, courses and activities

Although Together at Fair Green has finished for this year, the support and opportunities highlighted at the event continue throughout the coming months.

A special Together at Fair Green brochure brings together information about upcoming short courses, groups, wellbeing activities and other supports available locally.

The brochure includes opportunities covering areas such as mental health and wellbeing, community connection, training, employment support, personal development and learning new skills, with information on dates, locations and how to get involved.

We encourage everyone to take a look – whether you are looking for support for yourself, interested in improving your wellbeing, or simply want to know what is available in your community.

A community working together for wellbeing

Together at Fair Green is organised by Cork County Council and HSE South West, in collaboration with Connecting for Life, Midleton Family Resource Centre, Midleton & Area Chamber of Commerce and SECAD Partnership.

A huge thank you to the organisers, participating organisations, community groups, volunteers and everyone who joined us on the day and helped create such a positive and welcoming event.

The event may be over, but its message continues: make time for your wellbeing, stay connected and remember that support is available.
