Supported through SICAP, AMIF fund and Community Connections Initiative

In 2024, Millstreet joined the communities supported by SECAD Partnership through the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). Since then, vital services have been provided, including English conversation classes, art and wellbeing workshops, and employment preparation sessions.

Millstreet has a large population of people who have arrived seeking protection in Ireland. SECAD supports newcomers by helping them settle, build skills, and connect with the community.

In 2025, SECAD Partnership launched the Community Connections initiative to support community resilience against misinformation and promote positive attitudes towards newcomers. Together, these initiatives encourage inclusion and strengthen community
cohesion, making Millstreet a welcoming place for all.
