“Re-Ignite Your Career” Workshops will help boost your confidence
Are you thinking about returning to work, changing your career direction, or building new skills?
SECAD Partnership CLG is inviting you to join our free Career Re-Ignite Employment Support Workshops this November across several locations in Cork — including Midleton, Youghal, Carrigaline, Millstreet, Macroom, and Cobh.
These interactive sessions are designed to help jobseekers and career changers build confidence, refresh their job-seeking skills, and prepare for their next step. Whether you are looking for a new job, considering training or education, or simply unsure where to start, these workshops will give you the tools, guidance, and motivation to move forward.
About Career Re-Ignite Workshops
Career Re-Ignite is SECAD’s flagship employment support programme created to help people return to work, change career direction, or explore new opportunities after a break, redundancy, or change in circumstances.
Each workshop provides a supportive and friendly environment where participants can ask questions, share experiences, and get practical guidance on local job supports, training options, and career development.
This November, a new Frequently Asked Questions segment will address the most common challenges jobseekers face — from CV writing to understanding modern recruitment practices.
What you will learn at the Career Re-Ignite workshop
This session will answer some of the most common questions jobseekers ask, helping you gain clarity and confidence as you plan your next step. You’ll learn:
- Whether you need different CVs for different job types and how to tailor them effectively
- How to prepare for aptitude tests and what employers are assessing
- When and how to ask about salary during an interview
- If your qualifications are still valid in Ireland and how to have them recognised
- Where to find local training courses and return-to-work supports
- Who can help you update your skills and rebuild confidence after time away from work
- How to get references if you’ve been out of employment for a while
- Where to start when re-entering the job market and planning your career path
These practical insights will help you feel prepared, supported, and motivated to take your next career step.
