SICAP

Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP)

The aim of the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2024-2028 is to reduce poverty and promote social inclusion and equality in Ireland through supporting communities and individuals using community development approaches, engagement and collaboration.

SECAD Partnership is a programme implementer of SICAP 2024-2028.  Through SICAP, SECAD aims to address high and persistent levels of deprivation through targeted and innovative, locally-led approaches. It targets and supports those who are disadvantaged in society and less likely to use mainstream services and assists both individuals and groups.

Programme Goal 1: Supporting Communities
To support communities and target groups to engage with relevant stakeholders in identifying and addressing social exclusion and equality issues, developing the capacity of Local Community Groups, and creating more sustainable communities.

Programme Goal 2: Supporting Individuals
To support disadvantaged individuals to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of lifelong learning and labour market supports.

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government through the Department of Rural and Community Development, and the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 – 2027.

”SICAP is a critical piece of work for SECAD Partnership.  We have been managing social inclusion programmes for over twenty five years but this is the largest and most important award to date.  It underpins our work with target groups across South Cork and it is an essential element of the broader supports that SECAD can offer to our clients and communities.’’
