On the 5th of March at Aghada Community Centre, together with local community groups, we planted a native Irish birch — a meaningful symbol of our long-standing partnership, which over the years has grown through many projects, initiatives and investments, helping the Aghada and neighbouring communities thrive.
This has included grant support for Aghada Community Centre, ongoing guidance helping groups secure funding from other sources, support for the refurbishment of Lower Aghada Pier, the transformation of People’s Path into a lovely promenade enjoyed by many locals, and continued support for local groups through TÚS placements.
This event continues our “𝟯𝟬 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟯𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀” initiative, first launched in September 2025 during SECAD’s 30-year celebration, when An Taoiseach Micheál Martin joined us to plant the first tree.
It was a lovely opportunity to come together again and celebrate our partnership. A big thank you to our hosts, Aghada Community Centre and Chairman Bill Steel, for the warm welcome, and to everyone who joined us on the day!
