SECAD Partnership, Avondhu Blackwater and Comhar na nOileán are bringing together community groups and leaders along with interested individuals for a very practical and inspiring Environment and Climate Action Seminar. The aim of this very timely event is to connect community groups and leaders involved with environment and climate actions.
There will be presentations on sustainable communities and biodiversity projects from South and West Cork and the Islands, a reflection on Community Water Biodiversity Training from North Cork and environment and climate projects from our Finnish EU project partners. Click here for the agenda.
Christopher O’Sullivan TD, Cork South West, is Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Environment, Climate Actions and Biodiversity and will deliver a keynote speech during the morning session. A native of Clonakilty, Christopher is vice-chair of the Climate Action Committee, involved with driving decisive climate action and protecting Ireland’s rich biodiversity.
Amelie Krug, Policy Officer from ECOLISE, will discuss Community Led Local Development (CLLD) and the Green New Deal which commits Europe to becoming a climate neutral continent by 2050.
Davie Philip of Cultivate.ie and Cloughjordan Ecovillage will be our facilitator for the afternoon session. The afternoon session will be empowering and positive, hearing real stories of practical and implementable solutions from community groups.
