Community Networks

Through its work in communities and interaction with community based services in towns and smaller settlements, SECAD responds to a need for improved communication and information sharing across community groups and services.
Many providers have developed independently and provide excellent services. Through the development of tailored Community Networks, SECAD seeks to enhance, but not replace, current service provision whilst improving coordination and communication between services.
Specifically, SECAD endeavours to establish networks as appropriate which connect and represent all sections of community, statutory, voluntary and private sector services that have an impact on the social inclusion capacity of communities. Ultimately, a more integrated way of community working should help improve community access to services, improve community capacity, and the entrenchment of issues at local community level.
